First I would like to say this is almost an impossible quiz for me to answer with single books - but I will try....
Second this is only a snapshot of me presently, if I answered this tomorrow, or next week, my answers could be completely different
1. One book that changed your life (hardest question first). The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
2. One book you’ve read more than once. Good Omens by Terry Prachett & Neil Gaiman (and it's signed by both authors)
3. One book that you’d want on a desert island. A Complete Collection of Pablo Neruda's Poetry (but I'd find a way to sneak in several more....)
4. One book that made you laugh. The Giggler Treatment - Roddy Doyle (my kids and I still howl over this one)
5. One book that made you cry. Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe - Fanny Flagg
6. One book that you wish you had written. anything by Barbara Kingsolver
7. One book you wish had never been written. Little Alters Everywhere (sequel to The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood) - ruined the first book for me - but I more wish I hadn't read it, rather than it not have been written.
8. One book you are reading at the moment. Thief and the Beanstalk - to the kids, embarrassingly nothing for myself right now, other than poetry books and my own writing.
9. One book that you’ve been meaning to read. Until I Find You - John Irving (do NOT tell my mother I have not read this yet)
10. Tag five others that you’d like to do this meme. - oh I'm no good at tagging, if you read this and want to go ahead....
In conclusion I would like to say the one book rule sucks!

Funny thing, is that you are one of hte only people that assumed that it was a one bok rule. I think it was just more of a suggestion. Personally, I was just lazy, but the firl I got it from had several under each subject.
Also... Good Omens!??!!?! FUN! I completely forgot about that book until about 6 months ago and then couldn't remember the name. I had to do some sleuthing to get the title and author and I think that will be my book suggestion at book club.
Well it SAYS "One book"....!
Neil Gaiman signed 'burn this book' in my Good Omens book (its very old and tattered), and they are working on getting it made into a movie, so reread soon....
One book that changed your life . On The Road, by Jack Kerouac.
2. One book you’ve read more than once. All The Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy (3 times so far)
3. One book that you’d want on a desert island. Hmmmm. maybe a dictionary so I could play with words myself forever.
4. One book that made you laugh. Vernon God Little.
5. One book that made you cry. Three Day Road by Joseph Boyden (I'm almost in tears writing this)
6. One book that you wish you had written. anything by Barbara Kingsolver (ditto!)
7. One book you wish had never been written. The Bible.
8. One book you are reading at the moment. Saturday by Ian McEwan. 24 hours in the life of one man - intriguing, intense and a 50 page surprise at the end...
9. One book that you’ve been meaning to read. War and Peace (for about 30 years)
10. Tag five others that you’d like to do this meme. - oh I'm no good at tagging, ...me too.
Interesting Gary, I thought about putting down the bible myself - but opted for flippancy (as I usually do). War and Peace?! oh give up on it, try Heart of Darkness, it's smaller at least! and yes Barbara Kingsolver isn't she wonderful, I'm sporatically thumbing through her latest. and now you've given me some more books to consider - oh my, I'll be needing that desert island just to have the time for them all!
the one book rule is absolutely unfair
